What is the Alexander Technique?

The Alexander Technique is a simple and practical method for improving ease and freedom of movement, balance, support and coordination. The technique helps to discover a new balance in the body by releasing unnecessary tension, giving you more energy for all your activities, improving breathing, movement and general well-being.



Who Benefits from the Alexander Technique?

People who suffer from pain coming from excesive tension or from the extended use of the computer. People who suffer back pain, chronic headaches, stuttering, tendinitis, anxiety. Also actors, musicians, dancers, who might suffer from pain or injuries derived from their proffesions or stage freight. The Alexander Technique works for anybody who is looking for a better use of their mind-body set up.


Amelia Bande is a certified Alexander Technique Teacher since 2004. She studied at the Mathews School for the Alexander Technique in New York and did postgraduate studies at the Centre for the Alexander Technique in London. She has been an Alexander teacher for actors at Tisch School for the Arts of New York University, and in Chile at the Teatro Camino School and the Professional Insitute ARCOS. She has also given workshops and seminars to musicians, athletes and dancers, as well as taught movement classes to children. She is now based in Berlin.
